My Go-To Facial Masks.

Happy Freakin MONDAY you guys!

How was the weekend? Tell tell. I spent a bit of mine working and the last bit, relaxxxxing. We made the BOMBEST veggie lasagna everrrr, and I actually should've shared the entire process on Insta-stories. My bad. Because it was amazzzze!

I'll definitely be making it again, so don't worry. I will share the recipe on the blog too because it NEEDS to be shared. The lasagna was layered with mushrooms, zucchini, spinach, cottage cheese, and mozzarella. The sauce was to dieee for. (Get my tomato sauce recipe here). It was so good, I think we inhaled that in like two seconds. Hence, the no insta-stories. SORRY!

Anyway, I promise I'll share the recipe. But first, let's get to this blog post!

Skincare is one of my favourite topics to research and discuss on the blog. I feel like there's SO much to it. You can just never know enough about skincare.

You guys already know how serious I am about my daytime/nighttime skincare routine. I have it down to a science. I LOVE my oils, my eye creams, all the anti-aging stuff, and most importantly, facial masks. I'm fucking psycho when it comes to facial masks.

I mean, if you follow on Snapchat/Instagram, you know that I'll even do a mask on a fight when I'm traveling. NO SHAME. If I've got 30 minutes to spare, you can bet I'll have on a mask.

There's just something about putting on a mask, throwing some lavender essential oil in my Saje diffuser, and just kicking my feet up with some wine. It's the perfect evening, really.

Who else is a fan of the facial masks?!

I've tried and tested many, MANY masks for you guys. I mean, I spend hours at Winners just browsing their skincare aisle, reading the ingredients on ALL their masks. I want to make sure they are right for my skin, you know?

So, after trying many different kinds of masks, I've found four that I'm loving.

Side note: I had on this scary mask as I was getting a new refrigerator delivered to my home...
The delivery guys were NOT impressed. LOL

Okay, I'm breaking down the four masks that I love:

I've mentioned this mask on the blog before, and UH, I love! They are sheet masks, and they have many different kinds. So, if you're looking for oil control, they've got masks for that particular skin issue. My personal favourites are the Skin Renewal mask, and the Active Resilience Youth Mineral mask. These ones are super hydrating, and leave your skin feeling youthful. It's no surprise I love them! I mean, masks in general should leave your skin feeling smooth. But I feel with these, they give life into your skin.

These particular sheet masks have 25g of high performing serum in them. Applying just one mask is equivalent to using an entire bottle of serum. This enable the skin to remain dewy and bright. With these masks, you don't need to rinse your face after. You can just let the serum do it's thing.

The Skin Renewal mask also has The Akomplex AHA flower which contains roselle, rosehip, and viola tri-color extracts, rich in vitamins for deep cleansing and softer skin. YES PLZ.

The Active Resilience Youth mask has Hydrolyzed soy protein in it which is a golden skin revitalizing ingredient that creates plumpness and smooths fine lines.

This is one of my favourite brands, hands down! I actually love ALL their products. They have a selection of amazing stuff, and if you guys haven't tried them out, you need to ASAP! Tru-Green Organics is a Canadian skincare company run by a small family. All their products are 100% natural ingredients found locally in Canada and 100% fair trade. I have used a bunch of their skincare products, and just love them. My absolutely favourite is their Sun Kissed Glow Coconut Oil. It's basically shimmer oil, that gives your that J-Lo GLOW! So yes, I pretty much bathe in that stuff.

Okay, let's talk about the charcoal mask though! One that I just discovered recently. GUYS, this one's a game changer! Like, say goodbye to blemishes, pimples, blackheads, etc. foreverrrr! This stuff is amazing. You can use it as a spot treatment or a facial mask. The best part is that there's only two ingredients used in this! TWO! Pure Dead Sea Mineral Mud, and activated Coconut charcoal. That's it. If that's not amazing, then I don't know what is!

Ok, so the older you get, the more visible your pores are. You know? I'm noticing more and more that my pores are like VERY VISIBLE. When the EFFF did that start happening? I guess it was when I turned...30 :/

Anyway, thanks to THIS amazing mask, your pores appear smaller after smothering this all over your face. HAHA.  They've got three major ingredients: Bentonite, which is a colloidal aluminum silicate clay that absorbs oil. Aloe Vera, which is known to soften, soothe and comfort skin. And Amazonian White Clay, which helps purify and detoxify skin. This clay is known to remove bacteria, toxins, excess oil and dead cells that can clog skin and result in enlarged pores.

It's a bit on the pricier side, but TOTALLY worth it!

Speaking of pricey...this mask is $5000.00.

Let me explain. This beauty mask is made from Japanese Kishu Binchotan charcoal which is the highest quality charcoal. This is the same charcoal used for water filtration. The Kishu Binchotan has unparalleled detoxifying benefits. Kishu Binchotan charcoal is the best in the world due to its unique structure and origin (Japan). It comes from a tree that been growing there since 1688. When the tree is grown, hard wood is collected from it then burned. The remaining natural powder is then carbonized in a traditional Japanese carbonizing technique at 1200 Celsius which gives it this rich, dense, pasty texture. It's knows as "the golden charcoal." This Tresor Rare mask is made of 100% Kishu Binchotan and it offers the highest level of skin detoxification on the market. Which is why this comes at a price of $5000.00!

The product was produced with natural plant extracts and emollients, organic ingredients, essential oils, natural plant and seed based oils and no artificial colors.

Luckily, this was sent to me. And MAN OH MAN, was it amazing! If you want more info, or are planning on buying this, check this out.

Okay, that's it. Those are the current four faves.

What masks are you guys loving? Share, because I'm always trying out new stuff. And if I love it, you know I'll be sharing it on the blog.
