Life Lately.

Hi Guys!

It’s been a minute…really. I feel like with this amazing hot weather, I’ve really neglected the blog lately. I’ve been spending most of my time outdoors. Nothing makes my soul shine more than when it’s blazing hot outside and the sun is shining.

I know I know, global warming, blah blah blah….

There’s nothing I can do at the moment, so I’m just going to STFU and take in the heat, because sooooon, we’ll be in parkas, and I’ll be hibernating for the winter. :(

Okay, so what’s going on? How’s everyone?

Last week, as you guys know I was filming a little vlog. I teamed up with Meridian Credit Union on a campaign they are promoting. Basically, this is bringing awareness to millennials and their spending habits. I was only allowed to spend $20/day for 5 days. Mannnnnn, is it ever challenging! I mean, some days you spend no money. Maybe JUST on a coffee. And other days, you forget your breakfast at home and have to buy it, it’s Susie’s birthday at work so everyone’s lunching, and all of a sudden you have a craving for fall décor items at HomeSense and NEED everything!! There goes $60 bucks…

It’s fucking hard.

In fact, you guys should ALL try this challenge. Try spending ONLY $20/day for a week, and let me know how that works out for you.

The weekend was a packed one. Friday I was at Cube Nightclub celebrating a bride. You guys already know my thoughts on nightclubs (I'm 80 and would just rather not), however, this one was particularly beautiful. We had a booth on the patio, and because it was like 30 degrees at night on Friday, it was amazing. I sipped on champagne most of the night. Kind of bougie. The bride wore black and her girls wore white. Super cute. It ended up being a really fun night. If you're planning a bachelorette event, definitely check out Cube. It's nicer than most Toronto clubs.

Saturday was another gorgeous afternoon! I stopped into Infuse Med Spa for a quick laser hair removal treatment. If you guys haven't read the post, check it out here. After that, I had lunch with a couple of my favourite girlfriends at 7West in Toronto. I love, love, love the food and vibes at 7West. If you haven’t been, you need to go! Their pastas are always on point, btw. I had a penne pasta in a Mediterranean tomato sauce with assorted veggies, feta cheese & Kalamata olives. Highly recommend this. Their portions also feed a small family of four, so you’ll have leftovers for at least two days.

I spent the rest of the afternoon walking some trails in a small park. If I could live my perfect life, it would entail warm walks/hikes in different parks everyday and then coming home to rosé wine and home cooked pasta. Is there anything better?

In the evening, we had dinner with some friends who cooked us a vegan(ish) meal. If you don’t count the mozzarella on top of the lasagna, it was vegan. I was never really a fan of vegan dishes…until I tried this lasagna! Honestly, with the right kind of seasonings, you can make a kick ass vegan dish. She even made a “Parmesan” cheese fully out of cashews and nutritional yeast. I have no clue what nutritional yeast is, but I'm going to have to stalk this ASAP. It was SO GOOD. I will have to try this out, and then perfect it, and THEN share the recipe on the blog with you guys. If you’re vegan and want to share your recipes, please do! I’m down to try some out.

Okay, that's it for now.

I hope you guys have a productive week!!

Chat soon--

Xx, kim

Love your photos, as usual :)
I don't know what are prices there, but $20 is a lot of money for one day here. I spend about $5 a day, of course if I'm not buying presents, skin care, makeup etc. Just meals and water let's say.. But I like the challenge, so I'll set some amount and try this :D
I'm not vegan (or vegetarian), but I don't have anything against those meals if they're tasty so.. :D

Where are you from, Honey? $20 is not a lot here. I mean, you can definitely get buy if you're on a budget. I tried very hard!! I'm currently working on the video. I will post as soon as I'm done!
