Cedarhouse Spa: Intimate, Experienced, Relaxing.

When it comes to spas, believe it or not, I'm very picky.

I mean, after all, I am going for the FULL experience and dishing out quite a bit of money...

So naturally, I expect to have the best experience from the moment I walk in, to the moment I walk out. Wouldn't you?

There are a few things I look for when I'm looking to try out a new spa:

1. Is it intimate? Often times, big spas can feel less intimate. I typically choose spas that aren't so big. I like cozy. I love when you can almost be-friend the staff. Happy, friendly, smiling faces is what I want to see when I walk into a spa.

2. Is the staff experienced? There's nothing I hate more than inexperienced staff. Again, I'm shelling out the big bucks here, so no, please DO NOT have a full-on conversation with me about how your cat and dog don't get along while I'm trying to have a relaxing massage. (This has totally happened to me before, btw!) I mean, I'm all for chatting. But maybe let's wait till I'm getting my nails done?

3. Is the spa relaxing? Spa are MEANT to be relaxing, so if you're getting any other vibes, you should seriously just leave. I want peace and quite. I want florals and green plants on window sills, I want the sounds of the ocean, and I want cool-coloured walls with minimalist art pieces. Is anyone else this picky?

Anyway, when Julita, owner of Cedarhouse Spa wanted to collaborate, I knew it was a match made in Heaven!

The Spa entailed everything and more that I look for when choosing a spa. They had a HUGE service menu. I mean, they literally do everything from Body Wraps to Microblading. Their staff had on their best smiling faces (no fake smiles here!) The atmosphere was exactly my vibes: white walls, clean, minimalist, and overall beautiful!

They were kind enough to open up the spa to us on a Sunday, which made the whole experience a thousand times better! A private spa day with you and your bestie? NOTHING BETTER, REALLY.

Let me get right into the services:

Algae Body Wrap: This was totally new to me, as I had never done this before. I've had all kinds of massages in the past, but never a body wrap. I was super eager to try this out! And was it EVER the coolest fucking thing! Okay, let me tell you step by step.

You basically get fully naked and put on a disposable bra and underwear. You lie in a heated bed with a warm towel over you. Think warm towel that just came out from the dryer. YES. Then a massage therapist (Shirley) rubs a warm, natural algae mask all over your body, giving you a massage while doing it, and ALSO exfoliating your skin. Once you're covered in algae mask, you get covered in what seems to be body saran wrap. You get wrapped up for about 20 minutes and then once the mask hardens on your skin, she unwraps you.

Oh, she's also giving you either a facial or a head massage while you're wrapped up.

THEN...you get into a shower and wash off the mask. This is when you notice your skin actually feels like pure silk! In the most non-sexual way, I couldn't stop feeling up my skin...LOL.

Once you're all dry, you get back into the bed and she massages your skin with a body lotion, leaving your skin feeling super hydrated and moisturized. Guys, I got this massage done four days ago, and my skin still feels amazing. For anyone struggling with dry skin, I HIGHLY recommend this.

Relaxation Massage: For anyone who deals with stress on the regular, this one's for you. Again, all their beds are heated, so you kind of instantly feel relaxed the moment you're in their massage beds. A relaxation massage helps de-stress and loosen up your body. The treatment consists of flowing strokes, kneading and gentle manipulations of the muscles. They spa has many different options for massages, so do check out their website.

Facial: You guys know how anal I am when it comes my face. I do EVERYTHING in my power not to age. LOL. Prevention is key, in my opinion. So, eating right, using the right facial products, masks, and frequent facials are all part of my anti-aging plan. Cedarhouse Spa offers SO many great facials. Whatever your concern is, they will treat it. Whether it's anti-aging, redness, hydration, dark circles, pigmentation, acne, they have something for everyone! If you guys aren't doing facials regularily, you need to start. Even for the boys in your life. Take them with you!

Manicure: This is pretty basic, so I'm not going into to much detail with this one. But again, the staff was super friendly, and did such an amazing job. She was very detailed when working on my nails. She even gave me some good tips on how to get rid of stains on my nails. Because my nails are ALWAYS painted, and I never really give them a break from nail polish, they are stained.

TIP: She suggested soaking your nails in warm water and lemon to get rid of stains.

The great things about this spa is that they cater to bridal parties as well. So ladies, if you're looking to get pampered for your bridal shower with your girls, you can actually book the entire spa on Sundays. Think mimosas, brunch food, and nothing but pure relaxation with some of your favourite girls. I mean, I don't know what's better...

On that note, I'm about to get super relaxed with some peppermint tea and SCANDAL!! New episode tonight! Who's watching??

Xx, kim
