I've Locked In My Love. Have You?

When I was invited to Vaughan Mills Shopping Centre for the SickKids Lock In Your Love event, I was thrilled at the opportunity, especially being a monthly donor already!

As a blogger, making a difference is SO important to me. It's not everyday you can really make a difference. Especially being a fashion blogger. So, attending events like these and giving back to the community, makes me feel like I have a purpose to blogging. Not to say that I don't think so already, but this makes it a little extra rewarding.

SickKids Foundation X Vaughan Mills is doing something amazing, and I obviously want to share it with you guys.

From now until Christmas, Vaughan Mills will be hosting a special celebration and inviting visitors to lock in their love in support of SickKids Foundation. At the Love Lock kiosk, you can purchase a padlock on which you can dedicate a message before hanging it on the wall (see mine below). As a 'thank you', you will receive a commemorative keepsake, which is a cute little necklace that you can either wear or give to someone special as a symbol of the heartfelt donation made in their name. 100% of the proceeds from the love padlocks will be donated to SickKids Foundation.

My padlock and message.

It's such a sweet idea, and perfect for the holiday season. Many of us spend Christmas surrounded by our families, gathered around a table FULL of delicious food. I know I do. But, let's remember those that are spending the holidays sick, in the hospital, with barely any family around. Let's keep them in our thoughts are prayers this year, and open our hearts and donate whatever we can. Christmas is the best time to be a little more generous than we normally are.

What are you doing to make a difference this Christmas? Just remember, even the smallest gestures make a difference.

Xx, kim

My best friend and I obviously got the 'best friend' necklace.

Beautiful messages from others.

What a great opportunity to give back. Especially when it comes to giving back to the children. Continue support.

I've never heard of the SickKids Foundation. I'll look into it to learn more. It sounds like a wonderful cause.

Every year, we get gifts for kids in need (either Angel Tree or similar and Toys for Tots).

That's amazing, Tiffany! It's so nice to give during this season. Puts a smile on a child face :)

Thanks for your comment!
