I can't believe it's been two months already since becoming a home owner! It's such a surreal feeling that I actually own a place of my very own. #BillsBillsBills
I also can't believe how much staying in these days is totally my weekend vibe.
There's something about a Friday night in, with a really good kale salad (& homemade dressing), some guac/chips, Riesling, and a Leo DiCaprio movie? Not sure when I went from martinis and loud music to riesling and DiCaprio movies, but it's a good move and I'm really just into it. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with martinis and loud music. It's still totally something I do. Just not as often.
I guess it's something about the peace and quiet in my new place PLUS all the time I''ve spent decorating the place to make it, 'me.' I kinda just want to stay home and relish in the homey goodness. Weird?
Yes, I know, I'm yet to do a full home post. And I will, PROMISE.
Two months in, and I'm not yet fully complete. There are still a few things that are pending. I'm extremely picky when it comes to home décor, as I'm sure most of you are. I mean, at the end of the day, if you don't LOVE it, you're the one that's going to have to live with it. Amiright?!
Remember when I was picking a white colour for the walls? Yeaaa, that alone took ages! Who knew that 8475802642 whites existed? I'm really glad we're done with that stage of home décor.
At this time, I'm having a hard time with a coffee table that I truly love. I've seen a few that I like. But 'like' isn't going to cut it.
So, anyone with coffee table recos, send them my way. You guys have actually been AH-MAZING with all my home décor needs. I feel like you've all been a part of my home journey, right from the very start. Thank you all for the support as well. SO many of you have helped me with choosing stuff! So, THANK YOU. Really, can't do this without you guys. xx
One thing that's really important to me about my home, are the little tiny details, that maybe NO one but you will notice. My girlfriends always make fun of me about this, and maybe they just don't get it?
They love saying "no one will EVER see that, Kim!"
But, what they don't know is that, I see it. I notice it. I live there everyday. My home needs to be as 'homey' as ever.
Do you guys get it? I can't be the only one that loves the tiny little details. Like a candle that would go PERFECTLY on my bedside table. Or a lamp, that's the perfect height, shape, and colour for the console table. Even a throw pillow that has just the right detailing to go on my grey couch.
PLEASE tell me I'm not the only one!
Throw pillows, actually are a BIG deal for me. I'm extremely particular when it comes to choosing what goes on my couch. There's actually more pillows than people on my couch. (Most of the time) This pillow is my recent addition to the couch.
And let me tell you about this pillow. Yes, it has a story.
This pillow was designed by Nadia Lloyd, Canadian designer, who just launched her Toronto Collection in June. Her latest fashion and home décor collection boasts graphic black and white prints of the city skyline, depictions of King Street, Queen Street, and the Toronto Subway. The pillow I have is a clear depiction of the Toronto subway, as she uses the colours, shapes, and forms of our subway, in the design of the pillow, which I thought was so beautiful!
She doesn't stop there. She got a full line of clothing, cell phone cases, bags, and home décor items such as bed linen and throw pillows.
You have to check her out!

There's nothing more I love than featuring ridiculous talent all over my home. Especially local talent, right from our very own city. Nadia is SUCH an inspiration, and you guys all need to check out her collection!
And seriously, I need some good coffee table suggestions! I'm still on the hunt for a good white marble one.
Ps. How was everyone's weekend?
Pps. On a completely different note, can we talk about this dress for ONE second? I wore it to an event this weekend, and if you we're following on Snapchat/Instagram stories, then you saw it. I bought it on my travels in Australia. I'm a little obsessed with the details of the dress. It's such a keeper!
Anyways, I had a blast getting ready with you guys on Snap/Insta. Let me know if you want me to do more of those. Many of you were asking about the curling wand I use for my hair. I did a whole post on this, so check it out here. The Sapphire Wand is pretty much the ONLY hair tool you'll ever need to get those Victoria Secret-Selena Gomez looking curls. I swear by it.
