High Tea at the Windsor Arms Hotel.

There is something very special about enjoying a cup (or two) of afternoon tea with some close friends. Not long ago the Windsor Arms Hotel invited me to indulge in their afternoon high tea service at the beautiful hotel. I was absolutely delighted as I not only love tea, but also am a huge fan of wearing fascinators at any time of the day!

The beautiful Windsor Arms Hotel has been serving tea since 1927. You can enjoy your tea in one of three rooms: The stunning French-style Lobby Tea Room, The Purple Room, or the Russian Red Tea Room. With an original fireplace in The Purple Room, there was no question in which room I'd be sipping my tea in.

The wonderful staff welcomed us in and went through the options on the menu, guiding us specifically through the wide selection of teas they offer. The room was absolutely stunning, with long curtains, beautiful art, plush and comfy chairs, and of course a stand full of fascinators and hats to maximize your high tea experience.

With over 40 loose-leaf teas to choose from, picking the right type of tea was extremely difficult! They offer everything from Earl Grey's to any kind of Fruit Teas to Rooibos Teas and Chai Teas. I decided on the Passion & Envy tea, which is a passion fruit tea. The flavour was not too sweet or sour. It's the perfect type of tea for someone who likes a bit of sweet flavour without adding any sugars.

As the two of us are celebrating my best friend's birthday over some tea and talk, our server brought over a 3-tiered tray of deliciousness! The Brit's start from the bottom of the tier and work their way up to the top, where the dessert is.

Bottom Tier: Fresh Scones with Preserves and Devon Cream

Middle Tier: Smoked Salmon and Wasabi Sour Cream with Salmon Caviar sandwiches, Cucumber with Sundried Tomato Paste and Dill Cream Cheese sandwiches, and Grilled Chicken, Granny Smith Apples Citrus Mayonnaise, Greek Yogurt & Chives sandwiches.

Top Tier: selection of pastries and sweets, each exquisitely hand-crafted on site.

The most delicious bite-sized sandwiches!

As mentioned before, the stand which had all sorts of beautiful hats for guests to put on. We of course, came with our own. I can't possibly own more fascinators and headpieces! Some days I feel quite like the Middletons!

Weather you are celebrating a birthday, or a gathering of any sort, I highly recommend visiting the Windsor Arms Hotel for this special afternoon tea service. From the minute you walk in, you are warmly greeted by the staff here. I cannot be more thrilled with the customer service that the Windsor Arms Hotel provides, as well as the high tea service that was absolutely wonderful.

I do recommend making reservations ahead of time as they get booked up extremely fast!

A special thanks to Christine Korda and the staff at Windsor Arms Hotel for hosting us.
